Action Phonics™

Action Phonics™ uses Lalemics - a speech-based approach to reading. Through speech gestures, lalemics teaches reading the same way people learn to talk. It works so fast because it associates letters with our existing speech structure.

Through the Action Phonics™ program, reading, like talking, becomes an automatic motor function. Like all other motor functions, reading should be learned through movement. A gymnast must first go through all the desired moves slowly and deliberately before an Olympic performance can be attained. Likewise, one who desires to read can achieve success by developing the necessary actions involved in reading to produce those skills automatically.

Action Phonics™ is versatile. Though primarily used as a one-on-one tutorial it has grown to enable teachers to access its potential as well. Students of all ages use Action Phonics™ with amazing results. From pre-primer level a determined student can eventually excel to college level reading.

Action Phonics™ was developed from a desperate need. Challenged to teach an 8-year old boy (with no communicative skills and an IQ of 38) how to speak, Frank H. Lang plunged into a world of research that has ultimately produced the Action Phonics™ program. His numerous successful students and Annie are sold on this program!
